they were on the sled when i got it, so i am not sure if they have or when.

Would be worth it to pull the slide and have them rebuilt. Check with your local shops, there should be a mechanic at one of them that will re-build them for less than $30 a piece. ( I have found they will do it on the side for cash). I would also pull the ski shocks to. It will ride like a new machine, trust me.

 

i really cant find the springs im looking for i dont know what kind i need, i just want stiffer ones the the old stock ones that r on it now. any suggestions?

The suspension needs cleaning and greasing.

 

I was able to get stiffer springs for my 99 from the local polaris dealership.

 

Also replace those springs. Remember, the shocks don't keep the sled up, the springs do. The shocks just smooth out the ride.

 

well i just bought the springs and the front shock and spring today, now i have to wait to get them in. what is the easyist way to replace it all? what are the steps? does anyone have any pics of the steps? any help will be great, i cant wait until i ride it with the new stuff....thanks alot chuck

im interested to i am having sim prob with my 99 xcr 700 i just baught

 

is the .406/77 the heavies spring you can throw on a 99 xcr??? I need it to be big and bad cause im a big guy...i heard also about helper springs and getting my shock revalved but am low on cash. Also heard about turning the rear scissor block up on hi too. any suggestions???

 

Some of the touring sleds ran .421 springs and Polaris also sells a .437 spring as well. Try putting the torsion adjuster on the tallest setting, if it's not quite enough I'd find a set of used .421 springs and you might be ok going back to the highest setting. If it's nowhere close to enough then you'll have to dish out more cash (quite a chunk more) and get the .437's.

 

any idea as to where to find used springs at?? I looked on ebay but no dice.

 

I'd jump around on the different sled forums, see if you can find someone parting out a sled that uses those springs. Quite a few were the tourings. The heaviest ones you can get at the dealer and some online part shops, spendy though.
