Sled Shuts off after Full throttle to Hard Brakes

I Have a 2002 Polaris edge X. I have had this problem where the sled is shutting off after full throttle to hard breaking from the end of last season and this whole season. When I'm going 40 mph and slower and hit the brakes, it sounds like I hit the kill switch but the motor catches itself and keeps running. Any fast than that and the motor doesn't catch itself, it just shuts off. At quarter throttle, the motor misses, and when going full throttle to just letting off the throttle, the motor pops like it is back firing. The Jets in the carbs were cleaned and then it ran great for a day and then start doing it again. Does it with new gas, new plugs. It is not inconsistent either, every time from full throttle to hard on the brakes coming to a complete stop, the sled shuts off. Please Help.

Don't know much about these but is it possible that your clutch is not disengaging and its killing the motor? Much like in a manual transmission on ice? Hit the breaks real hard and it will kill the motor because the tires/ drivetrain is locking up ?

Just a thought

That's what I was thinking but it doesn't explain the sputtering at quarter throttle. It's wierd. Unless somebody comes up with something I'm just going to get a new one

How does it idle? Sounds like you could have 2 unrelated problems. Are the carbs synchronized?
The sputtering sounds like dirty or mis-adjusted carbs. The engine dying when braking sounds like the clutch sticking engaged but could also be partly caused by the carb problems.
Maybe clean, adjust, and synchronize the carbs and clean & inspect the clutch for wear.

It idles fine. We.cleaned the jets on Sunday and it ran great on Tuesday. Idleing has never been a problem. Mid range and top end are fine. Clutch has no signs of wear. I'm gonna go through the carbs again, check grounds and stuff this weekend.
