I just put a new track on my 97 XLT. There is a lot more noise now, I'm not sure if it may be from the bigger track lugs or if there might be a bearing going. I replaced all of the bogie bearings except the rear ones, didn't have the smaller bearings handy. One was a little tight. I cleaned and greased it until I can get the right one. The drive and jack shaft bearings seamed O.K. the one jack bearing near the clutches may be getting close, (it spun and was smooth, but not as smooth as the new bogie bearings) I wonder if that would cause what I'm hearing. I'm going to change that one probably this weekend anyway. The track looks like it's aligned, even on both sides, maybe a touch loose. It hags about 3/4" in the middle of the slide without weight on it.
It is the worst at 20-40 MPH. I can hear a sound almost like a growl and feel the vibration. At faster speeds it goes away. May be the engine sound overpowering it, but it smooths out too.
Am I just overthinking the sound of the new track? It's a 1" lug from a 06 ski doo. It has 3 paddles, 3paddles, then 2, repeat, no studs
Still got a great 75 mile ride in today!
