How accurate is Nada for used prices?

Seems like everything I'm looking at is 1-3k less on Nada than asking, and I'm only looking at sleds under 5k! Is there a better guide or somewhere else I should check for used pricing? I'm new to buying and haven't even ridden in 10+ years.

More of a guideline, but prices got all wonky in 2020 because of covid shutdowns. People started thinking their snowmachines were made of gold.

Should be back to normal now and that is how I would talk to someone selling a sled. Open with the line "Didn't you hear? Biden said Covid is over" The real factor is that new sleds are being made and sold again.

Agree with Bear, more a guideline. I am starting to see 25 year old sleds in good shape going back to the $500 dollar range again. Others are still trying to get $1000 plus for the same age sleds that have been sitting outside in the weather without a cover for 10 years. It ran when I parked it!

A friend paid $4500 for a 2013 Summit 800 in good shape before Covid. I am seeing a few of them where people want $6000 for the same sled that is now three years older. Those have been for sale for a long time. Things are starting to go back to normal. If they will not budge, move to another one. There are plenty of used sleds out there. At least here in UT.

I try not to use NADA for Snowmobile, Quad or Dirt Bike prices unless I see the prices locally on Facebook Marketplace, Craigslist and Newspapers are so out of what then I will check in just to see. But for the most part the prices around here have stayed pretty stable for the past 8-10 years. Even with the DNR enacting a trail pass requirement for those who live here. And that cost a LOT of people to quit and either sell their snowmobiles or part them out. Some pricing is a little high right now because it is coming into the season and we had 18" a couple hours north of me so people are jumping on that and that the UP in Marquette got hammered already for 2.5 days straight with snow and last I heard it was 20 some inches down by tuesday morning.

Just try to look around take an average and go from there. If it is too high like Bear and snowmoer said move on. Snowmobiles are always for sale. You can find them year round from people who want out or have issues especially in Nov/Dec when they realize Christmas is coming and that they can't afford that Xbox, PS5 or w/e the kids they have want.
