2004 340 classic drive clutch wont engage until about 5000 RPM.... Motor will kill before sled moves. Started it up with no belt clutch would not engage until about 5k. Put the belt on with sled on jackstand it will engage about 5k and spin the track but with weight on track the motor will kill. Sled only has 850 miles on it clutch doesn't look dirty or like there is any unusual wear. Friend of mine wants to buy it. I would like to fix it before selling it. Also any idea of a fair price fixed or unfixed. Super clean sled never been rolled or crashed.

Can you show us some pics of the drive line?
This would help to diagnose the problem.

In the mean time, is the belt sitting up flush or slightly out of the secondary?

Try blowing out the primary with compressed air. With that few miles, it's likely that things are just gummed up a bit and the RPM's have to be higher than normal to overcome the dirt. If you get a lot of dust, you may want to pull the clutch and give it a bath and a once-over to ensure it's not got worn rollers or some weights that are hanging up.

This sounds like what I am experiencing with my '73 Colt. I was thinking the weights were stuck or the shaft was gummed. Does it take a lot of air pressure to blow the devbris clear?

I was asking because if the secondary was hanging up, it would cause this problem, but since you say the belt is good there, then the problem is definitely in the primary.
Look for broken spring, weights out of position [crooked], movable sheave binding.

I cleaned my clutch up with break clean and it worked great. With the clutch clean you should be able to get a better look if there is any worn or damaged parts.

If you have a compressor, it will probably make 120 psi, which should be a good start. If the air doesn't work and you don't want to remove the primary, try hot, soapy water followed by a complete rinse with hot water. Can't hurt, and it may help :)

Brake cleaner worked like a charm. That must be a touchy clutch on those sleds because it was not very dirty at all but the brake cleaner really freed it up. Thanks for the help guys

Where can I see a video or pictures of the removal process?
Thank you
