Nice sled, quick to sense its a triple.... No older sleds are really good on gas! 8-12 mpg depending on riding style

yea if the speedo doesnt work then its the drive shaft bearing.. but i thought that was more common in the 90s

yea, im really scared that my bearings gunna go out this year! Sled has 3k miles, but the previous owner kept it greased so im hopeing it will be ok

I have been scared too. My speedo actually quit working a couple seasons back on my 98 ZR and it turned out the cable got pinched and broke in two. Easiest fix on the whole sled. I thought I must've been the luckiest Cat owner out there. From then on I greased the bearing a few times a season.

Great sled. My friend has an 02 and he drag races with it... they're fast.

You can't expect good gas, it's a triple.

yeah wen i bought my sled, i brought it home, had my dad lift the back end, i gave it gas and the speedo didnt climb, so i was pretty mad.. but then i did it again and hammered the throttle and then it started to climb... how many miles are on ur zr jkust?

Right now it is at 1667 miles. Got it from the original owner who was in his late 60's back in 2007. He didn't ride it too much. Everything is really nice except my boots scraped some paint off the tunnel and where your feet sit from all the poor snow contitions. It is stock except for the studs and a heavy duty shock that he put on cause he was heavy and I'm not sure about the skis. It got the factory recall top end rebuild at about 800 miles so should have some years left. Never could understand why an older guy would buy a ZR.

ur bearing should be fine then.. mine has 3k miles so im gettin nervous..my paint was scraped up a bit to but i bought some glossy black paint and put it on with a brush, looks pretty good! And yea, doesnt make much sense why an older guy would buy a zr.

I have a 2000 Zrt 600 it's polished and ported with d and d primary and m and m secondary the heads are milled it has k and n air filters it has v force 3 reeds it has 244 studs with a newer track and has only 150 miles on freshly rebuilt Motor but the crank broke last year because we didn't spot weld the crank where the pto end goes together, its in really good condition d and d quit making pipes for this sled cause it has the slanted motor and jimmy skiver races for them and is close to them and he had them go in on a saterday and make the pipes I no I'm forgetting stuff but what do you think it's worth with the broke crank? I found a couple cranks on the internet four 165$

The PTO side of the driveline comes through the bulkhead under the secondary. The PTO side driveline bearing is a sealed bearing, but there is a grease fitting under the secondary to add grease, which lubricates the speedometer gear adapter. The grease may also help keep water out of the bearing. But even with greasing that fitting, that bearing can fail because adding grease to the fitting does not grease the bearing. It's something to keep in mind.
