im working on an indy 500 efi for someone. it doesnt start it doesnt seem to have power to the ecu the pump will run if i jump the wires but not lights come on on the ecu. are there any ways i can test the ecu to see if its shot. im pretty sure the guy sent a boost though the system while trying to charge the battery so im suspecting the ecu to be fried. any help on testing it would be great thanks.

The only way to test is to try a different ecu. Unless you can see burned marks on yours, there's really no way to test like you would with a coil or stator.

You are probably right. But instead of trying a buddies on your sled, try yours on his, that way if his doesn't start, you know; but if your sled caused the ECU to fry and you try his on yours, you could fry his too. Then you get to buy two of 'em. ;)

He might have blown a fuse too.
There are also relays that switch the power to the ECU when the key is turned on. If these are not good it will give you all kinds of headaches.

I'm not sure if there's a fuse in the ecu ? There is deffently a lot of trouble shooting information on this forum starting with (mrhomquest) he is the God of the Polaris EFI of the 90's:cool:.You may find a thread that he has helped with someone else with your same symptoms. He is very detailed in his information & explanation on these EFI systems .
Look it up, I bet you find what your looking for right here from past threads he's helped people with. (mrhomquest)
