how would hte new bearcat 570 do in the mountains, 8" wide ski's and the track is 151"x15"x1.25", would be a great trail sled and good for hunting and ice fishing.Just wondering if it would do ok in the valleys with 3'-5' of snow? wouldn't really expect it to climb that well but wondering about the overall deep snow ability?

thx

Well it wouldn't do the best but will do ok with the 151 inch track.It willl get you over the hills when needed.

As far as getting through the deep stuff (and not climbing any insane mountains) that is what that sled is made to do!!! It's a utility sled, not meant for any insane performance, but if your looking to pass through some remote areas with lots of snow that sled will do great!
but again, it won't have great climbing ability, or sidehilling ability, and probably wont be the most maneuverable sled out there... its a workhorse, not a performance sled.

did you already buy this sled? if not, I would suggest taking a look at the Tundra LT 550. lighter, bigger track footprint, more maneuverable.

thanks for the replies I bought a used rmk 800 144" in mint shape as I'm just getting back into sledding after many years of not doing it.I mostly want a sled for deep snow in valleys and ice fishing and getting into very remote areas and occasionally dragging a skimmer.I think I will like sledding again but the rmk 800 is prob not the best choice for what I want to do.I love deep snow but wont be doing any extreme vertical climbs.So I was looking at a new bear cat 570 151", but will look at the tundra 550 as well.I also just noticed the new tundra extreme long track with a 600 etec in it, might be exactly what I need.Has anyone ridden one of these?

thanks again

I'm a little late here... but;

Spent 3 hours DIGGING OUT (went a total of 3 miles) a rental Bearcat last December in UT. Not enough power, and WAY too small paddles. If you're heading towards any significant powder, you had better pass on it.
