check on the side of the ecu to the right of the connector when you start it and see if the red light is flashing any fault codes. When it stops will it start back up right away?
Also if you feather the throttle will it keep going?
What fuel pressure did you get on your guage?

 

thanks for input.no flashing red light.yes it will start right back up as many times as i can pull it.i don,t have a fuel pressure gauge but the return line into tank sounds like niagra.falls. when i turn on key it builds pressure and shuts off pump in about 2 or 3 seconds . Is this ecu able to store default codes and how can i access them.i do not have any manuals to get info .

 

the light will flash a pattern.... long flashes followed by short flashes then delay , next code if present and so on repeating. the long flashes are the first digit and the short flashes are the second ..... so.... two long followed by one short would be 21. Let me know what you get.

 

i have not been able to get lightto flash.is there any way to trigger ecu to put out any stored codes.also,head and tailights are working but not very bright

 

I would be willing to bet that is your problem. You get the inital kick of the fuel pump when you turn the key on but then there is no signal from the mag that it is running.

 

Can't be that cause if there was no signal the injectors would not deliver any fuel....In that case the engine would not start at all.

Tell me more about how the sled runs .... can you keep it running if you give it throttle ? Can you ride it ? Does it always stall or just on cold start?

In your first post you state good fuel pressure but later you say you have not checked with a guage? Do not confuse fuel flow with fuel pressure. If for instance the diaphragm was broken in the fuel regulator you would have good flow but zero fuel pressure.

Since the ECU is not flashing any codes that tells us all the sensors are connected and at least in range.

You should start with the basics , compression test , fuel pressure test make sure you have spark on all cyls and that it is running on all three.
