I got a 98 zr 600 carb not efi. It starts on first or second pull every time but once it warms up it starts missing bad. Sometimes its so bad it feels like someone turned the key off for a second then turned it back on. Compression is good and plugs are brand new. Fuel filter is clean. It also backfires a little. Any ideas? Stator going? Thanks

Check your stator using the video in my signature. Your specs should be:

Black/Red to White (495 ohms)
Black/Red to Teal Green (45 ohms)
White to Teal Green (450 ohms)

When a sled starts running worse when it "warms up" it is usually the stator or the coils. If it ran bad and back fired from the time you started it up then you start to look at crank phase, bad reeds or sheered timing key.

There is a sensor in the thumb throttle that will make it do that. I have the same sled and did the same thing it sounds like

I think Drwebb might have something.

Check your throttle cable tension.
