Hello All,
I have an '89 Exciter that I am restoring and wanting to install electric start on it. I have all the parts needed from another donor machine but have a question about the removal and installation of the ring gear/flywheel of both. Has anyone ever done this and if so have any tips? I've removed many small engine ring gears and flywheels in my day but this looks a bit different and appears to be located behind the manual pull start assembly as opposed to the more conventional location of behind the clutch assembly. Can anyone give me a quick step process on this? Also, how much difference is there in the wiring harness between a sled with and without electric start?
I would sure appreciate any information anyone might have on this.
