I have a question for all of you out there. Next year I will be starting to race, terrain-x or cross country, I was wondering which sledwould be the best. In my class u can only have up to 500 cc engine, so im pretty much set on a 440,but which one. I've preety much narowed it down to either a 03 artic cat sno pro 440, or the ski-doo rev 440. I would like to know which one would be best for me, I also might try some snocross. I want facts, not just "I have always ridin artic cat,so i choose the sno proo", I'm talking facts here not favorite sleds.

which sled

i haven't ridden either one of those, but they are both great sleds i guess the best way to determine it would be to either at least sit on each to see how the ergos fit you and if you can take each for a test ride so much the better, the rev takes a different style of riding than the cat. it's more atv like. while the cat is more traditional. i personally ride a zr600 with handle bar risers and a klymax seat wedge that puts me in a more on top of the sled postion than it in. good luck, just pin the throttle and hold on.

Well, break the sleds down.

The Arctic cat is built for racing with all racing components. The Rev 440 is built for the trails, not serious racing. The Rev will be heavier than the cat, and not near as tough. The cat is built for one purpose to race, the REV for the trails. Thats a main difference, go cat cuz of the race ready suspension.

do you have down syndrome? how can you say that the rev 440 is a trail sled? It is a full out factory race sled. you are wrong about the weight of the rev it is actualy a half pound lighter than the cat (438.5 cat to 438 rev). the rev has taken a podium spot in every pro stock snowcross race for 2003. morgan racing has done extremely well with the rev.

as for the sno pro, it has been proven the past two years under tucker hibbert, kent ipsen, and trevor john.

I am still a cat fan though

the REV is a different riding style sled than the snow pro. you should sit on both of them first to see whether you like one or the other. REV makes you lean into your turns more. Dont get me wrong tho, the snow pro is a great racing sled, and is more what you would be used to probably. You might want to factor that in when thinking about how you are gonna race. If your not used to your sled you could have problems racing with it. My 2 cents.

i hate to admit this, because i love cats and will never ride anything else, but the doo boys got it right this year. Without Tucker cat wouldve been nowhere this season, and look at all the guys who switched to doo from cat this year-a whole lot. The reason, the revs are easier to go fast with in snowcross. I rode one on the trails and hated it, but in snowcross always standing up, its perfect. Personally, i would wait till the 04's come out, cats not just gonna sit here idly and get beat, theres gonna be somethin new, well have to just wait and see

doos aren't running stock sleds though. the rev youre looking at will be all stock i imagine, and no offense but you can't ride like blair. Stick with the snopro because of the simple facts earlier in the thread. It was built strictly for racing and holeshots, not trail riding as the REVs were built. And good luck in your circuit.
