Okay this may sound like a dumb question, but where should the fuel filter be on my '85 indy 400? Right now, it is between the fuel shut-off valve and the pump inlet. But....shouldn't it be after the fuel pump, instead of before the pump??

I know on a car, the fuel filter is always after the pump, not between the pump and the tank because it hinders flow (especially on a mechanical pump).....any thoughts??

Isn't it better to push through than suck through (no pun intended :p ).
