does anybody know what weight gear oil goes in the chain case for 71 arctic cat panther 440. thank's in advance.

I would use what ever they are selling and putting in sleds now cause this is the mellenium and all the oil is better filtered and prepared then back in the day,

You can use almost any lubricant for any chaincase. We use red automatic Transmission fluid in every sled. Or any viscosity gear lube will be more then enough

i'm going to use either amsoil, or atf. They seem to be the the most used.

yea it does not seem that a great seal, i ordered a new one from alpha sports for 20.00 waiting for it to get here, mine had a little split in it don't feel like cleaning up a mess.

I put ATF in my 72 panther and it was too light for the seal. Kept leaking out slowly. Replaced with synth gear oil
