My son has been complaining about a vibration on my old ZL550 ESR, but I could never understand his description... until yesterday.
I bought a package deal (trailer + sled) to acquire a cheap trailer. The sled that came with it is a '97 Summit 500. We had it out yesterday, and my son said it had the same vibration as my ZL. I rode it for a while, and sure enough... it just about put my foot to sleep after a mile or so.
I'm reasonably sure the vibration is coming from the vicinity of the drive shaft, but does anybody know what might be CAUSING the vibration? I was thinking of a few possibilities (bent shaft, bad bearing, loose track, etc.) Has anybody actually FIXED such a problem, and if so, HOW?
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
