Does anyone sled near Toronto without going to cottage country? When I was growing up (80's) my buddies and me didn't need to go up north, we'd snowmobile on the rouge river, golf courses and farmers fields... Does the rouge even freeze these days?

Cant doo that anymore, unless we get lots of snow and go on the Don valley, better get back on the trailer though, metro cops will fallow yer tracks home lol, closest nowadays is Georgetown to Acton in the west and maybe top of Kennedy rd north of Scarboro, only trails I ever did from 89 north, youd get in real trouble in the Rouge valley these days

Rode the credit river the other day before it thawed out on Saturday night. Nice little ice highway. Some open water spots but avoidable via trail or shoulders. I still hit the water on the vmax Haha.

Ya. Global warming is sucking the sled riding fun out of GTA riding areas. When I was a kid, the snow depth in GTA was up to my chin. Now, a good winter snow depth is only up to my ankles. Well, maybe not that bad. But, we sure got lots of snow depth when I was a kid....

If looking for a place to ride near GTA, surf the OFSC announcements for some local club outings. For example, this Saturday Feb 9 AM (from 10-5) has a family fun run at Fenelon Falls (which is a short drive north east of GTA).
