According to my Indy 500 manual it says you cant stud an Indy 500 track and being I'm going to be riding on lakes a little this year I was wondering if it is ok to, if not why not, or if there's anyway to stud them safely?

I actually have the manual that Polaris gives to their mechaincs, so it cant be a warranty issue as the manual has all of polaris sleds 1988-1995 and for other sleds it says you can stud the track just certain models you cant.

You can stud it if you add tunnel protectors. However if that is the original track I would would be a little leary. They may tear through with a track that old.
