What are your riding?
If you have something with springs, you can crank them up and that will give you more ski pressure..should help you on the trails.

2003 700 xcsp with 144studs and currently 8" carbides, might try adjusting ski pressure but was hoping more carbide would do the trick without affecting steering effort

It is a 2 minute job to adjust the springs. You should be able to
get the steering "in the sweet spot" it might take a few adjustments.
If you go into powder you want to back them off again..

I have the dual accu-track carbides. They help to eliminate the darting when trail riding.
