I have search but am a bit of a new guy to forums. Anyways picked up a ss440 Yamaha believe it's a 83? Blue and silver. The carb is mangled. Broken choke cable plunger jammed and what I believe is the secondary jet? Has a piece of metal jammed in it that I can't seem to get dislodged to get a screw driver in. I'm very new to motors/carbs and just wondering what type of carb this is so I can possibly try to find a replacement. Thanks!

Ask KCCats as he may even have one laying around or know what other year carbs you can use. You can use carbs from other sleds iirc on that engine as it isn't really anything special.

If you know the size of it like for instance a 34 or 38mm carburetor and it's a slide carburetor then you can pretty much find one anywhere.

Does anyone know what I can swap with or where to get one? Everyone I search it comes up a different looking carb. I'm not all that savvy by the way

A 40 mm Mikuni will slide right in. You'll need a different throttle lever/block for a slide carburetor because the stock one doesn't have enough throw. You could try to modify the stock lever however, I heard it can be

I did the Mikuni swap on my SRV
You will need the throttle block and a dual cable set up for oil pump, or just get one from Salvage

I used a single 40mm Mikuni and believe me it took several month to get it in and has been several years trying to get it tuned!

Just buy a salvage yard and replace it
