Hey all, so after about 2 months with my sled, I'm having an issue. 1991 Indy 500. The speedo quit working on me. Read about the bearing issue so I started working my way down the parts. I am not confident enough to change the bearings in my snowmobile, but I did get to the drive adapter. Sure enough the key was sheared, however when I put the partial key into the adapter it will not spin at all. I'm wondering if that is the problem. The driveshaft (on the adapter side) looks centered and not oval and does not have any loose room caused by the driveshaft rotating incorrectly that I've seen in some pictures. I plan on trying to look under the track to see if if I can see the bearing. My speedo cable does spin however when I attach my drill to the square piece and run it I get nothing to register on my speedometer. So my main question is if the key should turn inside the adapter. Second being, if the driveshaft area looks fine, should I be less concerned that it is the bearing?
