I'm diligent about greasing the sleds preseason despite the fact that they each see less than 100 miles a year.

When I do the speedo housing, I usually pull off the housing, remove the old grease and then regrease. Wondering if that's a bit much. I use "Green Grease" which is lighter in color, so the grease is always brown. However, it's usually fine looking; no dried out grease or clumps.

Should I just zip a few pumps in the housing zerk preseason and be done with it?

Only thing I might do is switch to a synthetic grease. We don't put many miles on our sleds either and have found that it tends to hold up better over long periods of time. We use Mobil One but then again dad worked for them for almost 30 years and we get it shipped to us at almost cost so it is cheaper. One nice perk for working for them.

Coolhand,
That's a good idea! I actually just checked and turns out the stuff I use; Green Grease is indeed synthetic.
