Alright i was driving in deep snow and i spun my track up, and my spedo just stopped working. i drove it home and felt the bearing up inderneath the tunnel, and it was hot, so im sure the bearing went, i ordered a new one


how big of a job is it to replace this, were do i start, i there a tutorial over it? im pretty mechanically inclined, but i just would like to know were you start

I just did the same thing to my 440z and its not that bad. It was a first time for me so it took a little bit. I'll explain what i did:
1. Remove Secondary clutch and belt
2. Remove speedo adapter that the cable is attached
3. Drop Track by loosening tensioners and the four bolts holding it in
4. Drain and remove chaincase cover on other side.
5. Remove the tensioner, chain, and two sprockets.
6. Remove the flange on the bottom holding the jackshaft bearing on the chaincase in then remove bearing.
7. Remove the jackshaft
8. Remove bearing that was on speedo side and locking collar
9. Install new bearing and collar
10. Reinstall everything in reverse order.
