Hey guys I'm new to the forum... I recently purchased a 1979 skidoo Citation 250.
It was running, but would die if I gave it gas, I ran a sea foam gas mix through it, and it fixed that issue. It was idleing for a while then just quit. I went to start it the next day and it wouldn't start at all. The carb is cleaned, I out brand new sparks in, and I tested the fuel pump, it's fine. Any ideas?
I figure there is rust or some crap in the fuel lines.... When I prime it no gas moves.

Sounds like the screen is either not there or plugged up. Might just remove the gas tank and turn it upside down to drain and flush everything out.

I beleive the gas tank can be removed by removing the seat and then there are two nuts that hold it down. Undo those nuts and it should slide back far enough to disconnect the vent and fuel line. If the rubber around the fuel line hole seems to be good, you might just pull it out and check the end.

I detached the fuel line from the gas tank and found that the "tube" which leads to the bottom of the tank is detached, it fell. Any ideas on fixing it without getting a whole new tank? I'm thinking about running some vinyl tubing down instead... Would that work?

You should be able to replace the line in the gas tank but you must use Tygon otherwise it will just rot and fall apart within a few months. Usually there is a connector on the outside of the tank that unscrews and the hose inside is attached to that. Not sure on that snowmobile though. Either way Tygon and then the weighted fuel filter on the end of it towards the back of the tank at it's lowest point to pick up all the fuel it can.

Yep tygon fuel line in the gas tank otherwise for the carburetors and fuel pump other stuff is fine. When immersed in gasoline Tygon is the only stuff that lasts. If you own a weed eater or chainsaw you will see that the fuel line in the gas tank is yellow. Can be had for around 2-3 bucks a foot at most places

I got it started by hand pumping some fuel in. I need to remove the gas tank to fix it though, has anybody done this on the citation? I believe the seat needs to be removed first but I can't figure that out.

Usually there is bolts in the storage compartment and on mine there is a large spring in front holding down the gas tank as well. Bear would know more on a Ski-Doo though

Yep I found it... Wasn't hard.
So my only problem now is when I prime it, the gas is sucked up into the hose, but when I push it in it spits it back into the tank.
Currently the hose is vertical to the gas, but still in it. Should I have the hose horizontal at the bottom of the tank instead?
If so would a longer fuel hose do the trick?

The fuel line in the gas tank should be all the way at the bottom with a weighted fuel filter on the end of it so you can pick up the gas at the lowest point of the tank. Polaris uses one like the one below and you can use the other one as well since it is a universal one. Make sure it is Tygon as well or it will just rot away in a few months or a couple years.

Go buy a new primer. The one way valve is probably about to fall apart. It is just a rubber piece.
