I need some help. I have an 86 formula with a 537 motor. The motor pulls over HARD. Is this right? Some help on where to start would be helpful. Also, I changed the plugs and the right cylinder plug had some rust on the bottom of it? My guess is the top end needs to be rebuilt.

Look into the cylinder with a light and see what the pistons look like, etc. Does it run well?

i can't get it to even start. I will look in the cylinders and let you know what the pistons look like.

i pulled the plugs and looked inside the cylinders. They are black. I have tried to start it but all i get when i pull the plugs is oil on the plugs. It seems like there is a faint smell of gas. The guy i got it from said that it has always fulled over hard. It seems to be pulling over really hard. it does pull over though. I have rebuilt motors from the late seventies but never really needed to do any over that year. Actually never had the chance to. Just nervous about screwing it up. Also when i pull it over, it sounds like there is something loose. Could be in the clutch though.
