90' el tigre 530 ext. do u have to have the springs to hold the exhaust on or could a guy weld a bolt on deal...? What is the purpose of the springs on the exhaust??

the springs allow it to expand as it heats it

ya the exhaust moves around quite a bit as the bellypan flexes and the sled gets ridden. the little rubber things the exhaust mounts ride on are attached to the belly pan which gets flexed all over during hard riding. buy new springs for less than a buck a piece if you need them and keep em. they are there for a reason.

no, do not weld a bolt fastening system on, I have seen someone do it and then the cylinder becomes the weakest flex point and will break.

If you are stil not sure it's simple,raise the rear end open the hood and fire that puppy up! Watch how much that motor moves as the belt engages!
