Just picked an 06 Summit 800, new to Ski-Doo so not sure if this is normal or not. The clutch seems to engage right off of idle as opposed to my Polaris's that engage at 4k R's or so, is this normal for that clutch?

No that is definetly not normal it should come in around 4k rpm I would give your primary a good inspection I have worked on two 08's that lost a roller in the primary causing them to engage to soon it seems like the cotter pins that hold the rollers onto the shaft are falling out causing this issue. You should be able to remove the belt and pry the primary closed to see in there to inspect the rollers.

No you have to pull the primary off and dissassemble the clutch you will need to have the right puller to get the clutch off of the crank.

I was able to pry the moveable sheave in a little ways and look at the internals, from what I can see everything appears to be in place. Ordered all the necessary tools for removing and disassembling it, along with a new spring.
