Guy's,
I am very new to this site and to snowmobiles. We have a couple of older Indy Classics 94 (1 up) and a 97 (2 up touring). How do you change the slides? Is this a project better off left until it warms up?

Thanks

Steve

I did a set day before yesterday on an XC in my garage. There's a bolt that goes through the front of the HiFax that needs to be taken out. Loosen the track about 4 or 5 turns, and drive the slide out through the track window. If you heat up the slide with a heatgun, it will come off a lot easier. Also, WD-40 helps. When I put them back on, I use either WD-40 or grease. Your new slides will need to be matched up with the ones that come off, so you'll need to saw some, probably off both ends. Took us 45 minutes for the first one, and 5 on the 2nd after we used the heat gun on it.

We did it with the sled on its side.
