A buddy of mine picked up an old srv 540. The guy he got it from said it would do 90 all day long. After we got the carbs cleaned and got it running it would run about 55 to 60. Did a compression test and one was 120 and the other was 101. Rebuild the upper part (rings and gaskets) of the motor. Still the same. I told him that might be all that these's sleds do. Any one have any input?

Thanks

You should investigate. My Exciter 440 would do 90MPH. Then it only went 60, because I melted the piston and it was running on one cylinder.
