i have a 95 zr580 it had a pipe on it and the needle setting was changed. I took the pipe off. Very loud. I changed the needle settings back to stock. Now it wont start unless you hold the gas wide open. It did not do that before. Any help would be great. Thanks...

If your sled was piped it may not be the only work the motor had done to it. Timeing may be different or something else.Without knowing who did what i'm with Joey-o put it back where it was if it ran good.

Check the throttle position cables from the carbs to the throttle... if they are not hooked up correctly, it won't start unless the throttle is depressed. You may have loosened one of them when you took the needles out... pull 'em apart and clean 'em and see if that helps...
