First time out on the new but used sled and it overheats within minutes, we let it cool and threw snow in the engine and took it out again only for it to shut off 10 seconds in. we had it idling for about 5 minutes before we look it out and then after riding it around for 10 minutes it first over heated. We had the scratchers down and about 3-4 inches of powder. it was hitting 200 degrees almost instantly. staring to think this was an 8 grand hunk of junk.

I would check for a bad thermostat. I had that happen to my 700 and to another Polaris in the past. Your symptoms were exactly like mine, took the thermostat housing off and the pin in the center of the thermostat had come out and was wedging the thermostat closed. New thermostat fixed both...

And of course bleeding the air out afterwords. Could be air in the system as well if it isn't the thermostat.
