Trying snowmobiling again.
Over 20 years ago I had Yamahas.
About 50 pound heavier and 20 years older I had to do something during the long Syracuse winters.

Just bought a 94 Polaris XLT for $1000

Had to replace some idler wheels/bulb/duct tape the seat some.

My question is----should the dash brake light come on when you press the brake lever.

Also how do you set the parking brake?

Thanks

The brake light on the dash comes on with the brake on my 97 RMK, it doesn't on my 90 650... I'm guessing yours is supposed to. On my 650, to set the brake, you depress the handle and rotate a lever that is underneath the brake handle. Some of the earlier parking brakes had problems and were removed, so your sled may not have one. Don't trust the Polaris parking brake for long periods of time, the pressure in the hydraulics bleeds off over time, some faster than others.

Thanks for the help!

I removed/adjusted/greased the parking brake lever and it works fine now.

As for the light. I won't worry about it. Looks like it's supposed to come on.

Thanks again!

Yes it's is to let you know that your break light is working. If the brake light burns out the light on the guage stays on.
