I have a 1985 yamaha v-max, and i can not keep it started. The sled will run but as soon as u let of the gas it iwll die. It hasn't been started in 2 years. I took the carbs out and nothing apeared to be wrong. Anyone know what might be wrong?

Also i have a 1984 v-max that i blew up 2 years ago, i just got done putting everything back to gether and now it wont start. I don't know why. I used starter fluid for it. Also i put the rings in wrong so i took it back apart after i realized it, but i never got it started when they were in wrong.

If anyone knows anything let me know, thanx so much i appreciate it.

Yea i think it does, it is just 2 years old may that be a problem?

if the gas is 2 yrs old then yea...that might be the problem. Otherwise check ur plugs,wires all that good stuff. and make sure the kill switch is up
