i took apart my pro xr to rebuild the top end and when i took the head off it was pitted and iwas wondering if it was still ok to run?. sorry for bad pics
Better question is what caused the damage! For minor damage, you can sometimes smooth things out and be ok, but that is a lot. If it were mine, I would replace it.
my 521 rotax looks like that...hehehehe.... 0.20" off the head should make up for the aluminum thats missing haha...
On a more serious note, I would replace it. It would probably run just fine...but probably not as well with one without all the chunks taken out of it..I dont know...Does that create more squash for compression? I've wondered this becase my 521 looks the same on both cylinders..
