Overheating issue

My formula z 670 had a problem keeping a good Temperature this winter and I would like to know what I should do

Coolant full and in good condition? No air trapped?

If the cooling system looks good, what kind of conditions are you riding in? Well setup hard pack and icy trails will lead to overheating quick, as well as melt hyfax. A par of ice scratchers will fix that. I frequently find myself riding on marginal conditions (plowed roads, frozen hardpack, etc) and have never overheated after adding a pair of scratchers, and my hyfax went from lasting 400 miles to 4,000 miles (2" track)

There are two main styles of scratchers that mount on the rail. One is a rigid wire scratcher, the other is made from cable. The rigid ones work well, but if you back up and forget they are down, you will bend them into a pretzel. They also break with a greater frequency than the cable ones. The cable ones are not quite as effective but last a long time and you won't have to worry about backing up (or sliding backwards) with them down.

There are a lot of new types of scratchers coming out, skidoo has some wire ones that are less resistant to breaking than the older ones but are also spring wire instead of cable. Those would be a dealer item.

When you are looking for a kit to add to your sled, some kits will come with brackets for the end of the scratcher to place when not in use; I find those pretty helpful. Others use the rail as the resting place, and that can lead to wear and a little bit of damage on the rail.

There are some really cheap ones out there, I would not expect them to last very long. You will almost always be better off over time spending a bit more money for a better product.

I have Polaris wire scratchers on my 700 and cable scratchers on my 600 and 800 that i think are "Between the Lines Designs" scratchers. They have been on for a bunch of years, so I'm not sure what brand they are.

What ratio is your coolant?
50/50 is good if you go to 60/40 it begins to loose it's cooling ability

60-40 is standard for Polaris from Factory and even the quarts they sell are 60-40. Been running that combination since we bought Polaris, 60% coolant 40% water.
