I was wondering what octane to run my sleds. I am running 87 on my stock sleds. So is there a significant difference in performance, or do I need to run premium? My sleds are running good. Also does it cause significantly more heat or less to run premium?:dunno: I've heard people talk about running only premium, but it is expensive, and I don't want to have my weekend cost more!:D

Premium has a higher octane rating but octane only indicates the resistance to detonation. Higher octane fuels are actually harder to ignite that lower rated fuels. Do not waste your money on premium fuel unless your owners manual recommends it. "High Octane" does not mean more power.

If your sled is stock and they are made for 87 then why would you want to runprem? There is NO perf gain. The perf gain is if you run a higher comp, and or timing!
