I have a squeeling problem with my venture when idling. It may be doing it when moving also but I can't hear it. It's not the belt, I've changed it and adjusted the secondary shieve. It sounds like it's coming somewhere between the motor and the drive but can't figure out what it is. Anybody have this issue?

Does it squeal without the belt at idle? Is the Primary clutch not completely releasing/opening? Is idle too high?

Yes it does it without the belt. The clutch looked like it was releasing all the way but I'll check it further. Thanks.

I have a 1997 Venture that does the same. What did you find out? Is it possible that the reverse linkage would cause this?

What happened was I put a new belt on it and adjusted the secondary so the belt was exactly where the book said it should be, an 1/8 -1/4" above the shieve. As I rode the sled the squeeling got worst over time. I put the secondary back where it was, which left the top of the belt just below the shieve and 90% of the squeeling stopped. It only does it once in a while now. So I'm still not sure what is causing it. But adjusting the belt above the shieve made it a lot worse.
