Hi, I just got my first snowmobile, a 70's something Yamaha EX440. I know absolutely nothing about it other than It's red and white. The first thing I need to learn is what year it is which I understand I can decode by finding the VIN. But I don't even know where to go to look for the VIN. Can anybody give me a hint?

Sounds like a 76 or a 77. That is a fun machine. I can pop trackies on mine. (well I could until it overheated) Very light and manageable. If you have questions, PM me.

On the manufacture sticker on the tunnel look for it and let us know what it is.

Welcome! I ran into the same problem with mine and when I did find the vin sticker on the tunnel the vin was wore off. Let's hope that's not the case for you.
