I got a 92 polaris 500 indy classic L/C. The head gasket went on it so i replaced it. Cleaned the carbs. Now it runs fine except it smokes alot. It smokes even more if i take it for a little run around the back yard. And then when i take it back to the garage it is extremely hot. Please help with any suggestions !!! I emptied gas tank out and put new fuel in.

After you replaced the head gasket and ran it through a heat cycle, did you re torque the head bolts to specs? Is the coolant level staying constant?

If their grey on the tip, it's running to lean. When you did the carbs did you make any changes? Check the carb flanges and crankseals for leaks.
