This picture was taken when using the Select Monitor on my PC linked into the Sled.
my idle mix is 2.1 as you can see
Does anyone know the Ideal setting for this? I can’t find it anywhere for the life of me.

I know the TPS should be set at 4.0 with the throttle wide open. I set mine using a tool like the one below that I built and it worked perfectly. Just a FYI as those are known to go out of adjustment easily.

Check the service manual in the link below. Click 1985-1995 it should be there or the 1996-1998 should work as well.

Are you sure it’s 4.0 with throttle wide open? I thought it was 3-4 with no throttle at all? That’s how I set mine so hope I am not wrong.
the Idle Air mixture is my worry as that is a super unknown
Nope 4.0 with the throttle wide open. That is what we used at the dealers back in the '90s on those when setting the TPS on them

Was that using the Select monitor on PC? Or using the ohm meter?
I know with ohm meter is different.
withselect monitor its a Degree settingnot a voltage setting. If that makes any sense.
This was what I was shooting for Bigsnow and others say with Select Monitor it’s 3-4 degrees at idle or setting still.
This was big Smows my shooting for settings when key is set to On but sled not started
my settings now are spot on with his minus the Mixture is why I was asking.
i know on the ECU there is a Potienmeter I can set next to the ECU main harness plus hidden behind a black cap it’s how you adjust the idle mixture.
ijyst don’t know the “idle setting” his is double what mine is.
We did with the volt meter and its 4.0 wide open throttle. I never trusted that software with regards to the TPS. We used to have better luck doing the voltmeter way for some odd reason. I can't recall exactly what the idle mixture we used to set at was. Been too long and I never messed with it on the '92 500 EFI I have that is gonna get parted out as I need the money badly for some auto repairs. I can try to remember to look next time at the parental units house but that won't be till next week most likely.

I swore that the settings were in the service manual for that stuff. Also Big snow is about the last place you can even get that software anymore or how to build stuff for the cables and what not. The TPS tester I built was done from Radioshack parts but you can still get them from eBay and amazon. Takes about 20-30 mins to wire it all up and its dead on accurate. I even thought about making several to sell as they can be decent money makers for what 10 bucks in parts?

Link for some of the service manuals just in case you don't have it. May want to try asking on another snowmobile forum or on the Polaris facebook pages that are out there. IIRC there is a couple RXL pages on there.

Yes with voltmeter your correct 4.0 is the correct setting.at wide open
With select monitor software it’s 3-4 degrees with no throttle

Found it!!
2.5 is the idle setting using Select monitor. This is for 20 degrees or less temp at 0-3000ft altitude
Why us info on these so damn hard to find. Lol
