I swapped out my 87 enticer 340 long track motor with a motor from a 80 enticer deluxe 340.

Got it running and the headlight was fine for a few minutes then when I revd it up to back it out of the shop (has reverse) the light got dim and went out. Any ideas?

Voltage regulator, could be the problem. I would replace it, there cheap, and if the old one is still good, then you have a spare.

wouldnt you first want to rule out the condition of the light bulb? new regulator does no good with a bad bulb. easy continuity check or even a visual on the filaments.

Thanks guys Ill try both.
I noticed that the older Enticers (79-83) call for a different coil than the newer ones (84-88). I used the newer coil because the old motor didn't have one. Could this have caused the bulb to pop or fry the regulator?

Just thinking the motor swap had something to do w/ it because of the timing of the deal.
