Hi Folks,

I'm looking to snow check a 4 stroke sled (expedition vs vk pro or sidewinder stx-gt and these two brands have me interested. I have briefly seen the skidoo and Yamaha running at idle and low speed and the Yamaha seems to be a lot louder than the skidoo 4 stroke.

I want a quiet sled to cruise on the property and through trails.

Is Yamahas 4 stroke a lot louder in your experience ? If so is it possible to make it quieter with a different muffler for example?

Thanks.

Go with the Ski Doo. I have a 600 ACE and just love it. The 900 would be that much better, but I do not need the extra power or weight. There is a rental place where I ride. All their sleds are 900 ACE sleds. They get used 7 days a week and get all kinds of miles put on them.

I have not see any mufflers that will make a Yamaha more quiet. Most want to go the other way, make it louder. Also, the Yamaha has not been updated in years. The Ski Doo is a modern up to date sled.
