I have a 1995 grand touring w/ intermittnet spark. what would you check first? I'm thinking either the ignition coil or the CDI. How do you test each on these components to try and eliminate some of the possibilities?

CDI's are usually good or bad, period. Unplug the harness from the engine and see if the problem goes away. If it does, then there is a key/kill switch or wiring problem.

Do you know which connections I should disconnect to take that wiring/switches out of the loop?

I think I have it figured out. After disconnecting the stator from the wiring, I got good spark. Then I reconnected the stator and disconnected the tether switch and I got good spark then as well. I started the sled 5 times and it's seems to be running great now.

Thanks for your help!!
