I have a 1995 Indy 500. It floods out immediately as soon as you try to start it. If the plugs are dry, you get one quick pop. A friend tried to borrow it from me and gas was running out of the exhaust pipe. It was running earlier this year. I cleaned the carbs, but, am I missing something?

Hard to start one on one cylinder so even if one is flooding it will cause problems. Yes, i have seen both floats/chokes stick so clean them both.

if it flooded that much you will have to drain the crank case. There is a 10mm bolt under the y pipe close to the bottom of the block, there should be one for each jug,if there is alot of gas in there it wont start, something to try good luck

replace the needle and seat in the carb if it leaks then the fuel cant shut off and slowly runs through the carbs into the crankcase
