How long do you usually ride in a day? We try to do around 20-30 miles a day (including night riding). I think the longest we ever did in one day was 50-something or was it 60-something miles? Well, I do remember my thumb and back were very sore the next day:D

I think my longest ride was 126 miles up in the UP of Michigan. We can pretty much go from sunrise to late night... with a couple stops for gas and food in between. On an average day of riding, I usually put on about 40 - 70 miles on the trails around my house. We are connected with a pretty decent trail system. The nice part is there are far fewer riders here than in the Upper P.

Generally if we are going for a long ride, I take 2 tylenol before we depart... and usually one somewhere in between.... you don't want to get sore until the next day you know. :D

I think its like 90 to Ely from here... but you definately missed a good portion of the trip. Silly trees... they just jump out in from of Polaris sleds. Or was it those "Dogsledders" that nobody else saw? :D Just kidding, you are just lucky you didn't break anything other than your sled.

Maybe Dano has some pics of that for everyone to see.

The longest day(and night) of riding I had was last year riding from Old Forge, NY to Duane, NY and back. Total of 251 miles! What a ride!
250... in one day! Wow I hope those were well groomed trails. I know for a fact I have never done 250 in a day. That is a lot. :p

If we woulda rode all day, we probly would had 300 at least....my dad has done that before. Hopefully this year we'll put on a lot of miles though. I love that good ole X.

It all depends on the trail conditions. If it nice powder ill ride for maybe 3 4 hours. If the snow isnt all that great, ill ride for maybe 50 miles...dont want to mess up my sled. Now i cant ride at all, I ilive in Wisconsin, and he have 0 snow, absolutly notin!I'm pissed, I'm gonna go crazy if i dont get to snowmobile soon.

Cobra,

The ZL with the SS suspension is absoutely the plushest riding sled i've ever riddin. When you ride over the small to medium size bumps it feels like your riding on a cloud, and then if you want to you can hit the big moguls and the suspension will take whatever you dish out. It has the plush ride of a ZL and the race manners of a ZR, best of both worlds! I would definately buy another. When we did the 250 miler, the trails going out were nicely groomed, but coming back they were crap! It was a tough ride back, but well worth it!

I went on my first ride last weekend... had the time of my life. We added 126 miles to our sleds, comparing that to some of the other posts im surprised how far we went. The trails were awesome, we rode mainly around the Grayling, Mi area. I couldnt believe how bad those trails beat the hell out of me, it was a riot. I think im gonna try taking some painkillers next time like you said, good idea...

My biggest ride in a day ever was 450 believe it or not. I usually ride in the U. P . We usually average 350 to 400 in a day. We don't stop often, I think that is the key. My best day this year was 424 started in munsing, rode to shingleton up to grand maris then across to paradise down to raco then the quick trip to the soo, then went back up to paridise and down to newberry then seney back up to 88 and across back to munising. It was an awesome ride the the Rev just works great. Ended up with 3500miles this year.
