getting more power

I was wondering what I could do to get more power out of my sled I have a 97 formula z 670 and I found a good deal on a larger track with rail extenders and I know putting on a longer track with larger lugs I'll lose some power but I want to get that power back I if not more. I am new to this type of stuff and not sure what to do.

Welcome
What you are asking is what every snowmobiler goes through!
As stated above buy a bigger sled!
I bought a new ZR600 in 98
I had the money then and I put over $20,000 into it!

Please don't go down that rabbit hole LOL
What you will want to do is open the motor up, get new pistons and seals
I can help you with porting, You can have the heads turned

Ski Doo had different rotary valves that would help with performance. You will get a few more HP out of it.

I heard about that but I'm note sure where to get stuff like that
I can tell you if you don't have $2000 to invest give up now!

I know a few guys that turned their 670's into 690's. Turned a perfectly reliable motor into a few more HP and a lot more working on them.

You might be better off finding one of the 700's and doing a quality rebuild on the motor and stuffing it inside.

Boring a mm over will help (better compression)
Porting will make more hp!
