Looked some of this up and got a few mixed answers. So I'm new with all this, I bought a 2001 mountain cat 800 with a couple mods. (SLP custom airbox, pipe and can) Should I use higher grade fuel for this thing, or is 87 ok? Also do ngk plugs come pre gapped or should I just get in the habit of gapping when I get them? Sorry about the lame new questions, just trying to figure this thing out! thanks in advance!

Always check the gap. They are supposed to be pre-gapped, but I have found that they vary greatly.

Unless it has very high compression (170+), you can run 87.
