Hello folks,
I'm trying to diagnose a few things that are going wrong.

I'm new to 2 strokes in general and having issues telling what is wrong.
My plugs are caramel but wet, so I'm guessing flooding? Lots of smoke out of the exhaust, throttle bogging from idle, and sometimes hard to start.

Here's the weird part I'm having, if I turn the air screw in where it is only half a turn out, the motor takes off on its own immediately. If I turn it out where it is 1 turn out, it idles well but has that bog.

I'm worried I'm sucking air somewhere but it's like it's telling me lean and rich symptoms.

Send help!

When i have issues with the air screw, I pull and clean the carbs. It's likely the pilot jet or the air or fuel passages to the pilot jet are varnished up. You may have to probe into all the holes with a soft wire to help dislodge the varnish. Pay particular attention to the pilot jet, as it's small to begin with, and a little varnish makes it less effective.

Can you turn the idle screws down when you have the air screw at 1/2 turn? I've had sleds that 1/2 turn out was the sweet spot for the air screw, and just adjusted around that to get the idle RPM I wanted.

Half a turn out makes it run away and anything more than 1 turn out makes it very lean. There is a small, probably dime sized hole, in the center expansion chamber (it was triple piped I guess at some point) but it is mostly sealed by the expansion chamber beneath it.
