Hello all! Just curious about the specs of this chassis. The model number says: 09009 and the last two numbers are gone. Then there's an engraved number reading: *1704155 The MFD is: 0501989 Any info would be cool!

How about a picture of the sled as well. That would help also.

According to the Polaris vin search it is a 1990 model. What model I have no clue hence a picture of the engine or hood will help. All it says for model number is 0900927

Looks like the engine type was scratched off the model number 09009XX = 1990 Star/Sprint (ES), but the motor would be either a 339 twin or a 244 single. (31 or 27).

Be easy to check, look under the hood and if it has two cylinders, it is the XX=31. Making it a Sprint ES 340. If it is a single cylinder, it is a Star or Star Trak 250.

Polaris vin search says it is 0900927. The vin number is there on the hull as it is 1704155 but when you search all it says is that it is a 1990 model sled.

yeah, the 0900927 breaks down to a model number. First 3 digits are year, 2 digits are model, and last 2 are engine type.

27 indicates it is a Star with the single cylinder 244 (250) motor.

The service manual uses the model number for determination. Polaris used to have their VIN lookup publicly available, but that went away. Did they bring it partially back? The main reason it went away is that it was giving out to much information. I looked up my son's XCF and it told me the original owners name and address and how many miles it had on it when he sold it. It had a lot more when my son picked it up.
