I want to get a bit more acceleration outta my sport 440. They don't make a clutch kit for this specific model. i just wanted to change the primary spring. :dunno: is that all that needs to be done. or more?
one good way to help it out is take apart the secondary, then change the pretension from where the spring hooks in from the no.2 hole to the no.4 hole, did that this weekend and it helped a ton, so do that fiirst id say, and if your not satisfied start looking at the primary. one more thing to add is the sheave adjustment on the outer part of the secondary, put it at one and that will keep the sheaves closer making them
it also seems like my secondary might not be opening all the way. could be wrong. but it starts to squeak a little bit every now and then. I'm sure it being 20 years old the bushings and springs may be worn out...
