Just started up the 93 Wildcat, and I'm noticing that the clutch doesn't want to come all the way back at stop....Spring SEEMS fine....

I can get it to come back with some raps from a rubber mallet....

Is there some lube at the shaft I should be concerned with?

Thanx in advance...

It's a comet...

At closer investigation....I saw something that seems to have "worked" itself into the shaft under the outside sheave of the clutch...

It looked like this:

Now,

Given that when I first started it, it was having some high-rev issues right off the bat...(which I corrected)...what are the chances that this is aluminum from the clutch sheave fried onto the shaft??

Could it just be a part of the belt that got fried?

I cleaned a bunch of it off....rode it and it engages about 4500 rpm....runs ok....the clutch came back much better than it was, but still a might short....

I have thinly oiled the shaft in the hopes of freeing this whole thing up. Am I dreaming?

Opinions, please!

If I need to replace the clutch, what all will I need? (parts, tools, etc.)

Much thanx for your time and attention...
